IIDA WORLD CUP FRANCE I

Confort, FRANCE Jul. 16-17

MORITZ NOERL, THE NEW DOWNHILL SUPERSTAR

Confort in France host the second world cup of the 2011 IIDA calendar after the first step in Canada in early June.
25 top riders took part in this event on a leg burning (with more than 3kms) and very challenging (at least 4 hard braking turns in the hill) course. The rough tarmac forced the riders to change many sets of wheels during the weekend .
Young German Moritz Noerl (one of the upcoming stars of the discipline) set the best time, 3 seconds faster than Mathieu Brichet (France) back to competitions after a long break and Alexandre Lebrun. Italy's Angelo Vecchi took the fourth place.
In the non IIDA Inline cross final A. Lebrun and M. Brichet came out of the last corner on the same side but A. Lebrun was faster in the sprint and got the victory. Mathieu Poirier finished good third.
Among women, multi world champion Severine Christ-Thomas won easily in front of Emilie Sadoux and Marie Marchand.
The event was a good training for the world championship which will be held next week in Bettola (Italy).
